biography
While still in high school, Erik became the lead singer for "Vie Privée",
a Parisian Rock Band. He performed, for the first time, on stage as
well as made his first recording.
After" Vie Privée" split up, Erik went on to release his first two singles with Victoria Records/EMI. The single "Partir" sold 70,000 copies. Erik received the Charles Cros Academy Award as well as an award for the best single of the year at the Festival International d'Expression Francaise (FIEF). Erik appeared in his first music video for his second single "Victoria", directed by Mike Japp.
At the end of 1992 Erik played Frederic Chopin in director Alfredo Aria's two months production "Les Romantiques" in Paris at the Théâtre du Châtelet. "Les Romantiques" also starred Catherine Lara, Klaus Blasquiz, Janiece Jamison, and Geneviève Paris.
In 1993, Erik continued to perform solo on stage in Paris (le Café de la Danse, l'Européen, le Sentier des Halles, le Divan du Monde, l'Opus Café, Le Réservoir...) and throughout France. He also performed in several music festivals (Les Francofolies de La Rochelle, Le Festival Chorus, Les 48 Heures de la Fraternité...)
Other projects followed and in 1997, Erik created the ephemeral electro duo "Millenium Prophety" with E. Reverdi. The duo performed for the first time in New York City.
That same year, he also created "Le Cabaret des Elements" with Eric Signor. They performed many shows in Paris, in France, and in a few holy places like Trinity Church in New York City. A CD, "Chant d'Ether" was released in 1998.
Also in 1998, he composed and sang the music of the Cyber opéra "Chaosmose" by Juan le Parc.
From 1999 to 2001, Erik was the lead singer and main character in Cirque du Soleil's new production, "Dralion" directed by Guy Caron. He performed 650 shows throughout Canada and the United States (Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Los Angeles, Irvine, San Francisco, San Jose, Denver, Minneapolis, Washington DC, Atlanta…).
Continuing his collaboration with Guy Caron, Erik was the lead singer and character in Salto Natale's production "Chamäleon" in Zurich, Switzerland from November, 2002 until January, 2003.
